Lexus whom parent company is Toyota manufactured the 2007 Lexus LS 460. This Lexus was manufactured with a dangerous part which is the Brake Actuator. This part fails leaving the vehicle unable to move. Which is very dangerous to consumers as this can happen anywhere at anytime. Lexus acknowledges this mistake and fixed some vehicles when in fact a recall should have been placed to fix them all. This was unfair as many consumers are purchasing these vehicles not knowing of this issue (even when Lexus Toyota did).

Lexus had received numerous reports where various brake system related warning lamps illuminate due to internal malfunctions of the brake actuator assembly. While my 2007 Ls 460's brake actuator assembly was replaced under this recall/warranty and was replaced 3 years ago, my vehicle continues to have the same issue. The Lexus's recall letter dated April 19, 2016 to me stated that the primary coverage offers warranty enhancement until December 31, 2017, regardless of mileage after the primary coverage end, the secondary coverage is applicable for 10 years from the date of first use, or 150,000 miles, whichever occurs first. Lexus is refusing to replace the faulty brake actuator. This continues to be an issue for most of the Ls 460 vehicles that had the brake actuators replaced.

There is a safety related defect in my vehicle which can cause the braking system to fail completely. I do lot of highway driving and some lights like ABS, traction, brake and warning turn on and my brake system starts behaving bad. After some research and talking to Lexus dealership I found out that this model has a design defect and the brake actuator go bad. This is a safety issue and it should be a recall but Lexus instead extended the warranty on this item and have replaced this device for free on these models but when I called they said warranty is not going to cover it and I have to pay out of my pocket. It costs roughly $3000 parts and labor. I do not want to sell my car in this condition as I do not want the buyer to die from it. Lot of people are buying these cars without knowing that there is a big risk and they may loose their lives. I request safety administration to come forward and look into this issue and save 100S of lives. Just imagine you are driving on highway have brand new brake pads new tires and all of a sudden your braking system fails and you loose your life. Please take action.

I have filed a complaint with corporate Lexus about the notorious 'brake actuator ' issue. There was a recall campaign 150K miles or 10 years from manufacture build date. What I am having is noise coming from the brake actuator when the pedal is depressed. This issue will only lead up to the brake actuator failing and causing a catasrophic accident. My vehicle only has 88K miles. Dealership and corporate knows of the issue and will not honor the warranty enhancement. There is a reason why they had this extended campaign because they know that the brake actuators in these vehicles are faulty. Not only on this model but other models and most recently newer vehicles made by Lexus are having this issue and are being called in to have the brake actuator fixed. The control arms on this vehicle is also another issue but I dont mind forking the bill on that because it is a wear and tear item. The noise of my brake actuator will grunt on the highway streets and while parked. As a life long Lexus consumer I am extremly bothered that they do not care about their customers safety. Mind you the repair is roughly $5000 rediculous that customers have to fork out the money on a vehicle they call their flagship. It is not a matter of 'if' it will fail but 'when'. conaidering the amount of vehicles affected by this I am very surprised theres no actual 'recall' for this specific vehicle. The number is in the thousands. Highly dissapointed in Lexus as they are willing to sacrafice the safety of their customers over a faulty part the car was manufactured with. Also supposedly they sent out letters for the warranty enhancement but I never received one or a phone call stating that owners were able to bring in their vehicle to have this repaired. I had this issue before the warranty enhancement was over and they said if there is no light they wont honor it.

The ABS actuator assembly has been deemed faulty in several Toyota/Lexus vehicles. Instead of the a recall being issued a warranty enhancement was put in place to address this issue for anyone who took the car to the shop. However with out a recall most people who were owners of these vehicles was not aware to have the part checked and this is a safety issue, a very expensive part that should not normally fail and with out a recall or a letter from Lexus/Toyota a lot of people was put at a disadvantage with being able to address this issue before the warranty enhancement expired. While in motion I received all kind of error lights and a message to pull my vehicle over as soon as possible and notify the dealer. At this time my ABS system is compromised and I have no traction control and my ABS actuator continues to vibrate even when I turn the car off which is using the battery even more. It pulsates the entire time the car is running also. I feel with Lexus know this is a faulty part it on several of their vehicles customers that was not made aware of this issue or the warranty enhancement should not be held labile with the repair cost which is 1800 for the part and 300-400 for labor. This should be a recall or the warranty enhancement should be extended and all owners of these vehicles should be notified and Lexus/Toyota should compensate with a replacement part all the owners of vehicles which was effected. This took place while my vehicle was in motion on the interstate. My brakes are very hard to use.

The contact owns a 2007 Lexus Ls. While driving approximately 30 mph, the contact depressed the brake pedal and found it harder to depress than normal. The contact had to use an excessive amount of pressure to apply the brakes and the vehicle hesitated before coming to a stop. In addition, several unknown warning indicators illuminated on the instrument panel and there was a continuous beeping noise coming from the dashboard. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer and dealer were not made aware of the failures. The approximate failure mileage was 73,000.

Lexus diagnosed the front brake actuator is failing. Apparently this was a known issue and there was a customer support program that extended the warranty on this part to December 31, 2017 or 150,000 miles. This issue appeared at about 100,000 miles on my vehicle, but beyond the expiration date of the customer support program and Lexus has refused to repair it at no cost or consider an extension. I consider this issue a safety risk as it concerns the braking system. Given that Lexus previously acknowledged the issue on these vehicles and there is a safety concern, I believe a recall campaign should be formally announced.

At random times when driving our car, the ABS, vsc and brake warning lights come on on the dashboard. When this happens the ABS system becomes inoperative, and the front brakes can easily lock up during moderately heavy braking. We believe Toyota has purposely designed the system to disable the ABS functionality when there is a possible problem detected in the ABS accumulator. That does not seem like a good idea. The warning lights sometimes go off for a while (a few days sometimes) and then return at random times and during various driving conditions. The warning lights usually come on when driving at moderate speed, and when not touching the brake pedal. From our research it seems like this issue is well known and documented, and Toyota sometimes repairs the brake system at no cost, however it seems like this should be a required recall. Our car has low miles for the year, only 86K. We have asked for help from Lexus however have not gotten any response so far.

Experiencing both the dreaded brake actuator assembly issue as well as the very common mark levinson amplifier issue, on model # 0W480. Was in conversation with Lexus customer satisfaction and they are completely unwilling to step in and do the right thing in assisting me with either, or both, problems. I've owned this vehicle for all of 2 months, and although I understand that I bought it used, as-is with higher mileage, I think that since there was a recent warranty enhancement program issued by Lexus on the brake actuator assembly, and also that the failed amplifier is a very, very well-known issue, where the amplifier all of a sudden one day cuts out and all sound is replaced by an incessant chirping noise that's only stopped by pulling the wiring harness on the amp or a fuse, that Lexus should do the right thing by its loyal customers and replace free of charge. But they will not, because exactly like every other company in the entire world, they simply do not care about the customer or their experience. Sorry, but this is the only way I am able to view my experience.

My 2007 LS460 Lexus with 100K miles has a failed brake actuator assembly ascertained by a Lexus and Toyota dealer. This was a confronted problem by Toyota for failure of the O rings within the assembly. The actuator abruptly went out while on the highway at 70mph causing brake fluid to not go to the right calipers. There is a recall for 150 K mi or 10 years, whichever occurs first. However. My Lexus was out of warranty in may, 2018 and they will not offer any help whatsoever because my warranty expired aprox. 1 year ago.

Brake system failure code 1391 indicating the brake accumulator and/or actuator, when applying brake front end shimmys to a point where control of car can be lost. Lexus extended recall to 12/17 however the problem is a definite safety issue and there are many complaints on line about this problem. The problem in most cases can arise at 80,000-up miles and cost is prohibitive at about $3500, this should have been a safety recall since there is so much documentation about this problem. I contacted Lexus and they had no answer but to say the extended warranty is expired.

I was driving home at 25mph (without my child) approaching an intersection, when the car in front of me makes a last minute lane change to turn at the intersection, I go to break and it doesn't break, the pedal reacts hard where it's always a soft compression, the dash lights up flashing the message "break malfunction" "check ABS, check vsc, check brake system, not to drive vehicle due to system failure, contact deal immediately". I coast down the road and upon breaking again the whole car shakes making steering and especially turning very difficult. I take it 5mph the rest of the way and once home and parked, I try to restart the vehicle. When depressing the brake to activate the electric start, the break kicked back and the car would not start. I had the vehicle towed to the dealer it was purchased from. The dealer did confirm it was the break actuator assembly (L-sb-0178-09) that had been issued a special warranty (policy bulletin 16-01) with a 10 year term from purchase date. Unfortunately the issue had not been taken care of with the original owner and then became a problem 8 months after I made the purchase... which is now out of the special warranty term. I am currently working to resolve the issue and hope Lexus will help cover the $2600 repair. More importantly I am hoping it becomes a recall because of the safety issue. I can't imagine what would of happened if I was on the freeway.

Purchased a 2007 Lexus LS460 on March 5th, got a prepurchase inspection and there are multiple things that have gone wrong. The latest repair needed is the fuel pressure sensor, costs approx $1525 at the dealer. I contacted Lexus to see if this would be part of the recall and case manager amanda deantonio stated that based on the miles, age and my service history, loyalty to Lexus, they can not assist me with getting this repair done. I am awaiting a supervisor to call me back regarding the repair that I believe should be covered under the "fuel pressure sensor" leak, elf campaign. On May 15, 2015, the gasket was replaced and the fuel pressure sensor sealing surface was repaired. I am now looking at a safety issue with this vehicle I purchased due the fuel pressure sensor shorting out my ECM, which has caused my car not to start. I am asking Lexus to replace this part at no charge due to the faulty part. Consequently, the fuel pressure sensor is installed where the plating material on the gasket seating surface is.
