Started with a peculiar sound when turning left and right. I took it to Auto Zone for a diagnostic but it could not be done as there was no warning of a steering malfunction. I don't drive the car often and is parked in the garage. One day I started the car and the steering would not budge. There is no error message on the dash. Car has been parked since.
I have changed the Steering Control Module and noticed the power steering light came on at first, followed by everything on the dash. All lights came on. Reinstalled the original Control Module and everything went back to normal. No lights and no power steering malfunction light. Steering is locked.
IF anyone has experienced this problem, please share your thoughts. I am thinking next of replacing the Electronic Power Steering Rack and Pinion from a salvage yard. Cost is still high including labor. I would like assistance in troubleshooting.
