Electrical system malfunction began (to my best calculation & recollection) in summer 2021 with the first of four battery malfunctions in one year. Each time, AAA discovered low battery response and recommended battery replacement. This time around, battery was replaced about two weeks prior, due to battery failure/AAA reporting would not accept charge. THE NEW BATTERY FAILED (8/3) and the starter broke while attempting to charge. Mechanic repaired starter and battery accepted the charge. No problem, right? Wrong. This driver drove about 30 miles and while driving, the electrical system shut down altogether. With I believe ALL WARNING LIGHTS LIGHTING UP, extremely dangerous situation. NO BREAKING, NO STEERING, NO WARNING. Fortunately, it occurred in a suburban residential area as opposed to the highway. SECOND tow to my mechanic and now, after a full week, no diagnosis, though the car has been running in the shop. This is an intermittent problem. I suspect the alternator.

On November 19, 2021, I purchased a vehicle from cars Lane on Hanover Road in Annapolis Maryland. Upon driving back to my residence in Gaithersburg I noticed that there was significant shaking when the vehicle was driven over 60 miles an hour. I notified the dealership and seemed helpful at first. I took the car to a good year facility and pay to have an alignment. That seem to fix one of the issues however there were several more and many more I was later to find out. As well, the vehicle was also hard to steer when it came to trying to back up and turn the steering wheel. It also made a loud whining noise. I contacted the dealership again and told them of this problem. I have been out to the dealership several times upon realizing they do not have a mechanic on duty and whoever passed inspection on this car should be investigated. There is no way that this car should've passed inspection. The last time I went to the dealership upon talking with the owner I was told to bring the car in and they would take a look at it. Looking at it was all they did. I noticed that [XXX] was on the phone with the warranty people trying to determine if the items that I complained about were covered under the warranty. The woman on the phone informed him that they only covered a certain point of the cost. Now I have come to find out that this car has over $17,000 worth of work to be done. I would like to make a formal complaint about this dealership, its representative [XXX] and the mechanic that allegedly passed this vehicle for inspection. I welcome the opportunity to speak with you and supply you with all the necessary documentation concerning this matter. I have included a copy of the estimate from the Lexus dealership in Rockville, Maryland. It is my honest opinion that this car should've never been sold and have lied to me in the process and to throw the paperwork at me and tell me to take care of myself is unacceptable. They should be held accountable, fined, or shut down. INFORMATION Redacted PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF

While driving from Florida to fairfax, ca the vehicle stalled ~10 time unexpectedly with loss of power brakes and power steering, making a very dangerous situation. The "check hybrid system and check vsc system" showed on the dash. Clearing the codes restarted the vehicle. I stopped in denver, co at kuni Lexus of greenwood village, whom road tested the vehicle for 30 miles but were unable to duplicate the fault. Obdii dtc P3105 was read on my scanner before arrival. I have researched the failure more and found out on Lexus tis system; on 01/15/2014, Lexus of miami claimed to have completed safety recall 13V396000 (intelligent power module (ipm) solder failures) but they only diagnosed some other problems and did not have time to perform this recall, neither did the inform me of it! I stopped at Lexus of Tacoma at fife, wa and they denied diagnosis due to minor body damage on the rear quarter panel where they claim water came in. This is not the location of water intrusion! the location is due to body seam cracks above that plain of the quarter panel damage, near the rear gate struts and hinges (see L-sb-0019-09), but they wouldn't look at that either and told me to go to their sublet body shop where the manager agreed with me that the water leaks into the high voltage battery pack/controller area was from the L-sb-0019-09 and not the quarter panel area. I sealed up all possible water intrusion areas and disassembled the hv battery pack area to see how much and where the water was (many photos) and dry it out with several days of sunshine here in fairfax, ca. I informed Lexus Corp about the relative recall/sb and they denied to complete it! the vehicle is back together and I am waiting on your response. I can be reached by email (I don't carry a cell phone) thank you!

Rear caliper blew while driving - almost lost brakes on highway - vehicle was unsafe to drive. Ignition coils failed (twice) while driving - lost power - almost got hit by a truck steering fluid leak - dealer says to get entire steering replaced or may lose steering while driving!! all this started at a mere 42,891 miles - and we narrowly averted possible accidents at high speed!

I visited the dealer for a regularly scheduled oil change and was told the steering assembly needed to be changed due to several leaks that were not recommended for individual repair. This comes four months after having the power steering fluid flush and maintenance. The vehicle has not been in an accident or experienced anything more than normal wear and tear. Upon researching the matter, I noticed thousands of other Lexus owners has had the same issue. My research was prompted by the more than $6,000 I have personally spent on making repairs to the two Lexus vehicles I own over a two year period, 70% of which ended up being recalls. I'm a more than fair and reasonable person. However, a luxury vehicle should not require 20% of its value in repairs every year.

I have 2007 Lexus 400H and the vehicle drifts when it catches either a road crack when changing lanes or on certain roads where there is a small crown. The steering get tight on correcting it drifts to the other side. Steering also gives a tug or a wobble to when hitting certain cracks or bumps. The drift and tugs generally are to the right. Dealer says everything looks good and blames in on tires. My Michelin tires with treadwear 450 are almost worn at 25,000 miles. I fear during snow this will be dangerous.

The contact owns a 2007 Lexus Rx400H. While driving 10 mph on a snow covered road he lost control of the vehicle and hit a guard rail. He attempted to drive the vehicle and noticed that the power steering malfunctioned. The vehicle was towed to an auto body shop and the damage to the bumper was repaired. The power steering was not repaired. Lexus was contacted and advised the contact to file a report so that they could diagnose the failure which would take 4 to 6 weeks. The failure and current mileages were 50,000. Updated 04/01/10 the consumer was told a power converter failed in the power steering. Updated 05/05/10.
