RX 330 LX 3.3L V6

  • Automatic transmission
  • 124,500 miles

Toyota Motor Company intends to issue a recall to correct the defect with the power steering pump on 283,000 Toyotas and 137,000 Lexus vehicles, for the vehicle years of 2004 and 2005, and with the Lexus RX 400h, for these years and also for year 2006. No four cylinder models are involved, as per Toyota. The crackshaft pulley becomes misaligned from the inner ring. This causes noise and if the problem is not corrected the pulley may detach which leads to increased steering effort. HOWEVER, IT REPRESENTS IT WILL NOT INFORM THE VEHICLE OWNERS UNTIL THE FISCAL 2012 YEAR. A vehicle operator will need to call the telephone number of 1 800 225-2987, extension 3, for Lexus and 1 800 331-4331 for Toyota vehicles. I have had so many problems with the Lexus RX330 SUV. It is an ongoing venture. The last standard maintenance work, as per the manual was over $2,500.00 (Above these costs, tires cost $1,000.00 and a transmission flush and filter is another $440.00, done at non-Lexus or Toyota dealerships). And tires on the Lexus RX330 are only good for 30,000.00. I am an excellent driver, I get 200,000 miles on the rear brakes and 125,000 on the front ones.
