MKX

  • Automatic transmission
  • 90,000 miles

I have a 2010 Lincoln MKX and have started experiencing brake issues. It started with hissing and very hard to stop the vehicle. I’ve had numerous occasions where I’ve almost hit a car from no brake power. Today I drive to drop kids off at school and the engine died!

I’ve done some research and found it to be a vacuum leak. This really is a danger to all those around me as well as my family. Now I will no longer drive the vehicle until I can get the needed repairs done

I’ve seen various really on the problem for Ford and Lincoln MKX but not the month mine was manufactured. This needs to be addressed.

MKX 3.5L V6

  • Automatic transmission
  • 151,000 miles

I had purchased my vehicle from Drivetime at 92000 miles. I was told the highest quality maintenance was done on the vehicle which didn't obviously include transmission service, air filter (which mines was missing), or a proper tune up. I think the only thing done was an oil change and windshield wipers. They did replace a couple tires as well. So don't ever depend on service from a dealership when purchasing a used vehicle because their is no proof of what has been done to the vehicle and most dealerships are for profit so they do the bare minimum and the major work will be on you.

Since I've had my vehicle which I've purchased in 2016. I've had my tires replaced, windshield wipers, transmission service, and some other things. However, just recently my brake booster went causing me a little over $500 to get repaired. This is something I didn't foresee coming and something I think all Lincoln owners need to be aware of once their MKX models get up in miles.

The overall vehicle is a very good model in my opinion, but it still needs some work. I'm due for a tune up, transmission service, tire replacement, and possibly some other things. These cars can survive a good amount of wear and tear, but you'll definitely have to pour in a good amount of funds to keep them running properly.

MKX 3.2L V6

  • Automatic transmission
  • 100,000 miles

Purchased this vehicle used in 2016. It is a 2010 MKX & now has 100,000 miles. Two weeks after purchase I started hearing a hissing noise from the brake pedal and it was acting funny. It was squealing in reverse and also when just sitting and pressing on the brake it squealed as well. Eventually is became hard to brake, I would press really hard and then it felt like the pedal sunk and stopped, I knew something was wrong. Excited to run across and extended warrenty on brake boosters! NOT.......... it covered some of the 2010's but not mine (of course). It had to be manufactured May of 2010 and out of a certain plant!! REALLY apparently they should have extended this on all 2010's because I just got a call from a mechanic and it is going to cost $500 plus tax to get a new break booster!!!!!!!!! Thanks Ford
