Navigator Luxury V8

  • Automatic transmission
  • 82,200 miles

I bought my vehicle as used one when it had about little over 70,000 miles on it. A couple of months ago the engine failed when I was driving it on a not so busy street. Thankfully and I was able to stop it safely and restart it moments later. Then few days ago it happened again. My worry is that if happens when my wife is driving with kids. I guess it would be almost impossible for her to turn the steering wheel when the engine is dead. I am going to report the problem to National Highway Traffic and Safety Administration soon. Hope Ford has an answer to the problem. I'm thinking about getting rid of it if I can't have it fixed or have to pay so much money to fix it.

Navigator Ultimate 5.4L

  • Automatic transmission
  • 108,000 miles

fuel injector shot gasoline into the engine. engine thru rod

The navigator had suspension problems from the 4th year on. Never would I have dreamt the Engine would "freeze", due to a Rod being thrown in 2012. Navigators had same engine as Ford Expedition. Expeditions were recalled due to faulty fuel injectors. Ford/Lincoln did not recall the same engine in Navigators. I am not alone. Many Navigator owners faced the same plight. The only thing Ford said was "sorry" ...and, offered me an x plan. The x plan is higher than any Internet priced car on the the block. Frankly, it is of no value. To own a $55,000 vehicle and have it "crap out" at the 6th year was a real blow.

No more Lincolns for me.... Dealer offered to 'fix it" for $8,500. Rather we sold it "as is" outright for $6,300. Which was better than the $1,500 trade in the dealer offered. Hope others have better luck than me.
