CX-5 Grantouring 4

  • Automatic transmission
  • 17,100 miles

While I was driving, when I press on the gas pedal, the car would not accelerate. Seems like the car has no power at all. Also when shift to M (manual) mode, It didn't show the shift number. Usually when switch to manual mode, it will show the gear I'm in. Turn off engine, then restart, the car runs fine again.

CX-5 Touring 2.5L

  • Automatic transmission
  • 72,000 miles

On two occasions on the last several days, I put the car in drive and the car didn't immediately engage. I pressed the gas and the engine revved, then the car lurched forward in first gear. I read the other issues with transmissions and I am concerned about how the lurching could lunge me into traffic or into a car in front of me. I have a lot of miles on the car for its age but it is very well maintained and these are mostly highway miles.

CX-5 LX

  • Automatic transmission
  • 25,000 miles

After getting off a highway, my wife stopped at a stop sign. When she pressed on the accelerator the engine raced but the car didn't move. So my wife tried putting the transmission in manual, still car didn't move. She waved other cars around her, then put car in reverse, bingo the car moved, So she tried putting transmission in drive, car didn't move, so she backed up 1000 feet to a parking lot and called roadside assist.

Car was towed to Mazda, waiting to hear from dealer.
