Headlight on Right side of vehicle not working, looked like a burned out bulb. Took it in expecting a very simple one hour while you wait change bulb out repair... nope. It was not just a bad bulb, it also included a failed 'headlight module'. Took the time to call ahead 4 days and schedule an appointment with the problem detail, you know, so they could be proactive and order a new bulb ahead of time. Nope. They didn't preorder the part. Told me on arrival technician had to troubleshoot it first to verify the bulb was really out. Then this had to be special ordered. Took a week to arrive and install.
What used to be a simple headlight bulb fix on any other run of the mill car took Mazda over a week and several hundred dollars' worth of parts and labor to remedy. Just dumb. Customer calls and tells you the problem, you should have had a lousy headlight bulb and module part on hand to fix it and ready to go. Where do these rare exotic parts come from? Mars? Does Willy Wonka have to hand carve each one from chocolate?
And I was met with the standard Mazda service response of "Gee, that is really unusual. We aren't sure why that happened..."
This is the first vehicle out of four that I have owned which ever had a problem like this, and it is the LOWEST MILEAGE car I have owned.
This was my third "YOU MIGHT BE DRIVING A LEMON" incident with this same vehicle.
Update from Jul 27, 2017: Correction, as of today, my vehicle only has 47,000 miles on it, not 65,000. So when this repair occurred, it was probably about 42,000 miles.
I have uploaded pictures of what a super job they did repairing the headlight.
