My tire pressure light was on, so I went to check all the tires at a machine that combines a pressure check & inflation (common at United Dairy Farmers stores). I checked the first tire okay (front passenger). I did the rear passenger & didn't notice or hear the issue right away. I did the rear driver tire, heard a pop, then a hiss. All air was leaving my tire & there was a piece on the ground that appeared at first to be a valve stem. Then I saw that the other rear tire was doing the same thing! Luckily UDF allowed me to park the car until it could be towed to the tire store. They informed us that this is a COMMON PROBLEM with this car. That the valve stem pressure sensors are corroding & they keep the parts in stock for this reason! If it's so common, and it could cause an accident, why is there NO RECALL??? Luckily, I noticed the problem before I was on the road, with my child in the back seat!
