MAZDA3

  • Manual transmission
  • 80,000 miles

Second time the clutch assembly needs to be replaced. Cost of parts and labor higher this time, almost $2,000. Clutch barely lasted 25K miles the second time around. The car has hardly been driven the past two years due to everyone working home as a result of the pandemic. Very disappointing quality from the brand. Clutch wears out prematurely and costs $$$ to fix.

Replacement parts seem poorer quality and less long lasting than the factory original parts. Very poor quality and durability compared to other makes and models. Avoid the Mazda brand as you will spend too much money on maintenance over the long term for problems like this. Buy a Honda or Toyota instead - they seem to have less transmission issues, even with much higher mileage. We liked this car but due to the ridiculous maintenance costs and parts that wear out premature will NEVER buy another Mazda, period.

MAZDA3

  • Manual transmission
  • 55,000 miles

Clutch was slipping and not working correctly at 55K miles. Seems premature for a newer car driven only occasionally. Durability of the clutch system is poor compared to other makes and models.
