Summary
Some vehicles may exhibit a squeak type noise from the rear brakes when driving at approximately 6- 12 mph (10-20 km/h) with or without light braking. The noise usually occurs when driving immediately after the parking brake is released, and may be caused by the use of double-sided adhesive tape on the original brake pads. The tape causes less contact between the pad and its support when braking, especially with light braking where vibration of the brake supporting parts results in squeak noise from the rear brake. To eliminate this concern, the specification of the rear brake pad has been changed (slit up pad and elimination of double-sided adhesive tape).
