Tribute S V6

  • Automatic transmission
  • 68,500 miles

Very scary for me as I was getting ready to park in between two cars, suddenly could not brake. I pressed the pedal to the floor and was immediately able to shift it to park. Called my son to help me. He saw the oil spot on the ground and said the brake line busted, thank God it happened when I was in the parking lot. But I almost hit the car in front. I thought it's a wear-n- tear, but is not. These cheap parts used in this vehicles are dangerous.

Tribute I

  • Automatic transmission
  • 114,505 miles

This was extremely dangerous. Driving my daughters Tribute, that we had just spent $1000 making it safe for her to take to college. Typical Mazda Tribute rust issues with under body expected with $115k miles. All other checked out good. I was driving her car because it was last out of drive. I drove it and was unable to stop the car, almost driving into the garage and had to pull the emergency brake to stop. Had the car towed, leak in hose to brakes caused the issue - garage said it was a common issue and to hold on to receipt b/c there was probably going to be a class action lawsuit. I'm ready!

My daughter is 18, a relatively new driver, taking the car six hours (all interstate) to college. God forbid the brakes would've done that on her way to school, it could have been a death sentence. For whatever reason I am glad I drove it that day.... because she was leaving for school two days later!

This car is a complete piece of crap! Rust underneath, recalled several years before it, not this one. Known issues not recalled/fixed. If anyone wants in on a class action suit.... let me know!!!!
