Tribute 2.3L

  • Automatic transmission
  • 104,390 miles

The body around the top of the shock completely rusted until the shock now just bounces up into the car. I have an uncle who owns a body shop and said he sees this issue alot in the 05-2012 tributes and escapes.

Tribute LX V6

  • Automatic transmission
  • 98,000 miles

2006 Mazda Tribute V6 - 98000 miles - rusted wheel well that supports the shock mount. Could cause terrible accident if driving and the shock breaks the rust loose. Car hardly broke in! Drove Mazda's all my life - not sure now. Contacted local Mazda dealership only to be sent to a Ford dealership for a possible $1K repair... This is a common problem after researching and apparently Mazda no longer will address. We, the buyers and drivers, are left to take care of an issue that Mazda was well aware of back in 2002-2004 and did not remedy in 2005-2006 cars.. What a shame!
