Tribute S 6cl

  • Automatic transmission
  • 100,000 miles

My key turns in the ignition, but the car will not start. A few weeks ago, the car was driving and the ignition turned off. Luckily, I wasn't too far from our house and was able to get the car to start again. The car has been parked because I recently had a baby but it is still showing the same symptoms with the ignition. This poses a safety hazard, and should be looked into by Mazda.

Tribute V4

  • Automatic transmission
  • 150,000 miles

Key turns in ignition, lights come on, car does not start, starter makes no noise. Will not jump start. Since we have owned car (12/2013) we have had to push in on the key to get it to start. Problem has recently become worse and now we can't get it started at all. We have tried multiple keys with no success. I think I could replace ignition cylinder myself, but I am not sure about reprogramming new keys that come with it. Any help would be appreciated.
