I own a 2013 Mercedes-Benz C250. After an oil change, the engine started making a loud rattling noise. I took it to the mechanic and they said there is a problem with the camshaft adjusters. It would cost me around $3000 to fix. I still have not fixed it. I am very disappointed with Mercedes.

My 6th MB and likely my last. Dealer serviced on time since new, at around 130,000 miles the check engine light came on and engine started running rough. Dealer diagnosed the problem as timing chain and associated parts (Tensioner etc). Repair cost quote was almost as much as an engine replacement, asked service person if this was a common issue with this engine and was advised that it was not. Checked online.........hahahahaha this is a manufacturing/design problem and is apparently quite common. I am 64 years old, have owned many vehicles, including 6 previous MB, always used dealer service with the MB's and have never, NEVER had a catastrophic engine failure in any vehicle until now. Love the rest of the car but this is ridiculous.

Took the vehicle back in after the B service because it was running rough. I had been complaining about the burning smell since I had the vehicle and I was told "new car give it a chance", turns out after I complained loudly about consumer protection, that it was a leaking water pump that had been leaking since I had the vehicle. The other faults were the engine mounts - had to be replaced after two years, obviously made of plastic. The vehicle was pulling badly to the left however since they've replaced the engine mounts it seems okay - coincidence maybe, not sure. I'm waiting to hear back about cracked leather front seat, despite very good care, Benz tell me it's not covered under warranty. They've sent it off to head office for consideration. I also asked for the parts they had removed and was told that if I wanted the broken parts I would have to pay for the $4000 repair, seriously. Anyway, here's a $70,000 vehicle that's got so major issues after purchasing brand new in 2014.
