Takata recall. The contact owns a 2013 Mercedes-Benz C300. The contact stated that the air bag warning indicator remained illuminated while driving, which was a safety concern. In addition, the horn failed to function. The contact received notification of NHTSA campaign numbers: 18V043000 (air bags) and 17V627000 (air bags); however, the parts needed for the repair were not available. The contact stated that the manufacturer exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repair. The contact called Mercedes-Benz of Oklahoma at (405) 236-1224 (located at 14240 broadway extension hwy, edmond, ok 73013) and was informed that parts were not available. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and did not assist. The approximate failure mileage was 134,000. VIN tool confirms parts not available.
