This could potentially be very dangerous and should be recalled-should have been a long time ago from the complaints I've read already!! Sounds like same problem on same type of Mercedes! This has now happened 3 times with this car!! You have been driving and then are stopped at a stop sign or stop light and when you try to push the gas pedal, the car kind of revs up and the car really goes nowhere!!?! It's like it can't shift to next gear?!!! Depending on where this happens it could be very dangerous!! Just think if you want to pull our real quick and make a left turn and it's a busy street-but your car only gets a few feet and doesn't want to move..what about the oncoming cars-they would smack right into you, right on the drivers side!!!?!!! So so dangerous!

This should have been recalled a long time ago! Mercedes needs to take care of this and stand behind their product!!! Unless they really don't care about the lives of their drivers and passengers????!!! If you sh*t the engine off for a few minutes and then restart the engine it usually resets itself or something? But you never know when it will happen and that's the bad part!!!

Unfortunately, I bought a used 2006 MB in June, 2014. The engine light recently turned on (April, 2015), then disappeared. I guess this was the prelude to the dark result.

When driving, the car suddenly would not shift out of second gear, and had I to drive home at about 15 miles per hour. How scary and dangerous this was! It has now been sitting in front of my house for over a month not knowing what to do since quotes of the repair might exceed the price of the car!

On Monday, May 18, 2015, I received a notice from a class action suit stating that I may be eligible for a reimbursement for the thousands of dollars it will take to repair the cost. The suit has not been won yet. My problem is that I do not have this kind of money to start the ball rolling! I will still apply to see if I am eligible, but I will also be writing to the BBB, MB headquarters, and the local TV stations. I know that the recent news involves faulty airbags in some cars (with my luck, the only other car in the family), but maybe with some exposure, this too, might make the news.

Has anyone else encountered this unfortunate breakdown? It seems like the number is growing quite a bit. Although other class action suits have failed, another one currently in CA seems to be growing in strength. This defective gear is so dangerous, yet MB refuses to generate a recall. Any suggestions or help would be welcome!
