problem #1

E350 LX V6

  • Automatic transmission
  • 175,000 miles

Several months ago the transmission starting slipping .. feels like it was slipping into neutral.. On several occasions the transmission started to slip while I was driving up a hill and the can stopped moving forward and started very dangerously rolling backward.. Currently happens more frequently and the only way to recover is to shut down the engine and then restart the car again.. the problem corrects itself after restarting the engine. Dealership in Anaheim CA indicates they don't know what the problem is however it will cost a lot to investigate and repair.. This is the second major problem on this car this year after a fuel pump went bad and I was told I had to replace the entire gas tank along with the fuel pump which costs approx. $4,000.. Come to find out later Mercedes had a major class action suit on this very same problem and had to repair or compensate for the damages.. my dealership would not.. NO MORE MERCEDES FOR ME..
