This complaint is for a 2010 BMW 535I xdrive. I went into the garage to start my car this morning Wednesday, 10/28/09 and the check engine light came on and the car started shaking. I moved the car out of the garage and shut off the engine to see if it would reset, I started the car up again and the check engine light was still on and the car continued shaking, I drove the car about 50ft to see if it would stop shaking and light would go out but it did not. I drove the car back into the garage and waited about a 1/2 hour to try it again it was the same problem. I contacted the service department whom advised me to contact roadside assistance to have the car towed in because it should not be driven. I had the car towed to open road BMW where I had purchased the car from two (2) months ago. I spoke with the service advisor and asked had anyone else experienced this problem he said yes on the 2009 and 2010 models it seems to be the fuel pump. There seems to have been a problem with them, but once they have been replaced that seems to have fixed the problem. I am waiting to hear back from the service department.
