This sounds a lot like this:

OCT 29, 2014

Vehicles Affected

186,024 Ford Recall #14S22, NHTSA Campaign #14V682000

I live in Delaware, so yeah sounds the same but a different model. Sbout a year ago I started to smell gas from the car but it would be off and on and not that often. Every time I did, I'd look under the hood and sometimes under the car but never saw anything wet. Just today 6-07-19 some one told me there is a wet spot under the rear of my car. Yep, it started to leak big time. Now I have a car with under 36,000 mi on it I can't even put gas in it because the gas tank is rusted out. Yes, the car is 12 years old but so was the car in the recall above. Anyway I called the dealer and they said it wasn't covered so I called Ford Customer Service and they said it wasn't covered. Hey, if the cars above was covered, why isn't mine? It looks to me like the wrap around the tank held the water and caused the rust out.
