: the contact stated under normal conditions, the accelerator broke from the stock and flopped about loosely. Although the pedal did not completely separate, the contact managed to drive the vehicle to the dealer by applying pressure to the anchored stock that holds the accelerator pedal. The dealer suggested the accelerator pedal sustained excessive wear due to abuse by the driver. The service department replaced the accelerator pedal.
