My vehicle started making a noise when brakes were applied. I took to dealership and they informed me that my accumulator was bad. Some Montero's had this under recall, but they said mine was not covered and it will cost me $650 to replace it.

Brake warning and antilock lights come on the first and several subsequent times the brake pedal is pushed. The bake pedal is very stiff and hard to press at this point. A strange noise can be heard from the left side of the dash each time the brake pedal is pushed. These symptoms are identified in recall id 01V254001 but Mitsubishi states that my vehicle is not part of this recall.
