The contact owns a 2007 Mitsubishi Outlander. The contact was advised of NHTSA campaign numbers: 16V791000 (visibility) and 16V458000 (suspension) associated with the vehicle. When the vehicle was in the park position, the contact was unable to shift into drive. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic, but was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was 130,000.

Rear passenger windows coming out of the track and or opening out of the window, opening to the exterior of the vehicle, then windows are inoperative leaving the vehicle not safety. The door needed to disarmed the inner panel to work to install the windows in the tracks, in a few operations of the windows, it goin out again.

The rear glass on our 2007 Mitsubishi Outlander shattered. It was about 30 degrees outside and we turned on the rear window defroster, and let the car warm up for a few minutes, then started driving, and turned on the rear windshield wiper. The glass shattered and fell into the car.
