A recall was done on my 2015 Mitsubishi Outlander Sport for the wiper transmission assembly May of 2018. It is now 18 months later and while I was driving the wipers stopped working in the middle of a rain storm. I could not see and was fortunate to be able to pull over safely. When I called the dealership they told me that the work done was only guaranteed for 12 months. How do you have a manufacturer defect on a vehicle supposedly fix it and now I have the same problem 18 months later? The bill is $400 for the repair.

I have never had any vehicle I have ever owned have this problem, from my Hyundais, Fords, Oldsmobiles, Nissans, and others. I am extremely disgusted that either the manufacturer defect will continue or the repair center never fixed it properly to begin with. As a consumer I expect a manufacturer to acknowledge problems with their vehicles and if the same problem continues to correct it. The service center tried to say it was due to my mileage that they couldn't cover the repair. How does a wiper transmission have anything to do with mileage? It is not the motor of the vehicle, the tires, brakes, or anything that takes wear and tear. There is a defect in the wiper system that is still not corrected and I'll probable have to pay for it to be repaired again in another 18 months. I will never buy a Mitsubishi vehicle again, I am very disappointed in their customer service.
