The contact owns a 2007 Mitsubishi Raider. The contact stated that the fuel cap sensor was illuminating intermittently. The contact stated that the vehicle was taken to an authorized dealer. The technician diagnosed that the esom valve was defective and needed to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired but the failure recurred. The secont time the failure recurred the vehicle was jerking violently and both the fuel cap sensor and the check engine sensor illuminated intermittently. The vehicle was taken back to an authorized dealer for further diagnosis and repair. The technician stated that the esom was filled with water. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 87,000.
