problem #3

Oct 012015

Altima ES 3.5L V6

  • Automatic transmission
  • 133,595 miles

The situation is as such. The engine mount went so I had to replace it and also the transmission slips at the worst times. I did my homework and of course 2055 Altima's and Maxima's all have this problem essentially. In fact I believe it goes from about 2003 to 2007 or so that these transmissions in Maxima's and Altima's are garbage. It amazes me that a company of Nissan's size is not doing their due diligence and recalling this. I will tell every single person I meet the issue on this vehicle and I would never buy a Nissan again knowing that they are doing nothing about this. It is ridiculous and something needs to be done. I cannot afford to get this transmission fixed as it is $3000 plus and lets be honest no one can really can afford that. I really hope something will be done before I need to replace or fix this problem. Pissed off does not do justice on this and I would imagine that Nissan is going lose tonnes of business and rightfully so. Something needs to be done about this and I would love a solution other than paying.
