It was a cold morning and I started driving to work when I noticed on the dash a bright red warning light saying "BRAKE". I immediately checked the emergency brake lever which was down. The light went off, then came back on, then it would turn off again and come back on. I kept driving and eventually it stayed off.
I suspect that the car just had to warm up or it needs more brake fluid. If it repeats this behavior, then I'm going to say its connected to the cold weather causing it for some reason.
