My passenger airbag off light came on when my friend was sitting in the passenger seat. Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't. My VIN is not included in the recall. Maybe it should be?

The passenger airbag goes on and off even while wife is in passenger seat. The Cig charger outlet in center console and the one under the AC controls has shorted out. The shortage started with just under 7k miles. I have had both replaced twice and they continued to short. My warranty has just expired and both had stopped working a month prior but I didn't take it back again. Nissan couldn't provide any idea why this continues to happen or the airbag issue. The RPMS have also started to idle low while at a stop. The car shakes slightly as if it is going to stall while at a stop but as of yet as not.

No matter if I have bags/groceries/purse/backpack or passenger in the passenger seat, the airbag light goes off and on. Not sure if this is a glitch - I HOPE SO! But it is annoying and potentially dangerous if it doesn't work or if it may go off on a passenger for no reason. Weird...
