Approximately three day before having to have my power steering pump completely replaced, I was driving down the interstate in Omaha NE around 9pm when I heard what sound like something falling off my car. My stomach immediately dropped and a huge wave of panic hit me as I'm driving 65mph and I have my two young kids in the back seat, I calmly continued to drive. I was noticing car seemed to be driving ok and nothing seemed off. Next morning I get up and load the kids in the car to do what we had to do for the day and noticed my power steering was showing signs of needing fluid, stop buy some and go on about our day.

The next day seemed fine, 3rd day had to take my 10 month old to the dr and notice my power steering was way worse stopped and added fluid carried on as we left the drs once again needed to add fluid (only 30min appointment). So called the mechanic and scheduled to take vehicle in next day. By this point vehicle was not holding fluid at all literally could watch it pour out as I poured it in. Mechanic looks at it and calls me to inform me that my pump has no bolts and that I needed to take it back to who installed pump last (bought used approximately a year prior and personally hadn't had it replaced). I refused to take it back to the crappy dealership I bought it from fearing they made the original mistake, and due to driving vehicle for 3 days w/o pump getting fluid it was fried. Had whole thing replaced. Power steering has been fine since and current mileage is 185,450.
