Altima SV 2.5L

  • Automatic transmission
  • 87,521 miles

This has happened several times with both key fobs. It's not the battery. My car wouldn't recognize the key fob when I was trying to unlock the door from the door handle. I had to pull out the key fob and pushed the button and it worked fine. When I try to start it says no key detected. It even said it driving down the road.

Altima SV 2.5L 4 cyl

  • CVT transmission
  • 34,000 miles

First got Key Not Recognized message back in January of 2015. Over time, it occurred more and more frequently, even after multiple battery changes. Also, couldn't unlock doors to enter car. Now happening only daily. Although reported to servicing Dealer, they "never saw the problem" and just replaced the battery. Now they tell me I probably need a new Electronic Key (over $200) and that the car is now off warranty so, "Sucks for you."

This on top of a bad heater blower motor (over $400 repair) -- also "sucks for you." As much as I've loved my two Altimas, this one may be the last! = Sucks for them!!!

Altima SL 3.5L

  • CVT transmission
  • 30,000 miles

I have had several issues with my 2013 Nissan Altima 3.5SL since the warranty expired at the end of March 2016 and I only have 30K miles on the car. Recently, I have been getting the key not identified and I had the battery replaced in the key fob so not sure what the deal is. It's sporadic so I haven't been able to have the dealer look at it because I am not sure what is causing the issue. It's random and the car either won't start or I can't lock the door. Just a pain.

Altima

  • Automatic transmission
  • 98,000 miles

I got in the car at the Y after my sons swim practice and the car wouldn't recognize my key so I couldn't start the engine. I locked the doors with the button on my key, unlocked them the same way, opened the drivers door, shut it, and FINALLY it started! This was late in the evening in a dark parking lot!!! I need this to work or trade it in for something that does!!!
