Altima SV 2.5L

  • CVT transmission
  • 48,605 miles

My 2020 Nissan Altima 2.5 SV has begun to beep, indicating that my passenger is not wearing their seatbelt. This of course is surprising, when I have no one sitting there nor do I have any weight on the seat. In fact, I use to be able to put my 4lb purse on this seat and nothing would occur. Now, nothing is even there, and the warning indicator beeps at me until I plug the seatbelt in. It is simply VERY annoying, and not detrimental to the vehicle long-term.

Nissan says they cannot replicate the issue, which is a blatant lie because it is every single time I drive away. I showed them videos and they still can't do anything because it did not show any codes. (I did not include this video only because it shows personal information).

For now, I have unplugged the sensor from the seat using a YouTube video. I just searched how to turn off annoying seat belt warning beeps. Model years 2019-2014 should all be the same. This does not "fix" the issue by any means, but it helps me forget about it snice Nissan will not help me. My car has had countless sensors either reprogrammed or replaced, which are not frequently covered under extended warranties just an FYI.
