My ses (service engine soon) light has been on for weeks now, the fuel gauge has been completely erratic. I am really worried that I will run out of gas in the middle of nowhere, or run out of fuel and not know and get hit on the freeway! Nissan has a service bulletin out about this very issue but still refuses to do a recall on what they admit is a bad sensor. I have had this diagnosed for free at aamco, (P0463 is the code) Nissan refuses to accept this and wants me to pay them 100.00+ to let them diagnose what I already know!

Stayed on, turned truck on and off, noticed last time that the gauges all shook a little before engine started, now when to start again to take another child to school and engine won't start at all, makes click click sound and all gauges shake, see many similar complaints, looks like this needs a recall!!!!!!!!!!!

The fuel level sensor has failed in my 2007 Nissan Frontier. I have done a little research and found several others complaining about the same issue. I called my local Nissan dealer and they said it was not covered under any warranty or recall. I was told that the replacement of this sensor will cost almost $500. Please help investigate this issue.

Fuel gauge on the truck became inaccurate causing engine to unexpectedly stop running from lack of fuel. This created a dangerous condition in not being able to control the truck in high speed traffic. Nissan dealer said the fuel sensor in the tank had failed and was not covered under manufacturer's warranty due to exceeding mileage and time warranty.

2007 Nissan Frontier gas gauge quits working and sends a signal for the service engine soon light to come on. Online there are a huge number of people with Frontiers, xterras and pathfinders with the identical issue. Problem is apparently a bad fuel sending unit.

2007 Nissan Frontier with 55,000 miles developed "service engine soon" light when filled up with gasoline. Code shown when read was "fuel sending unit high output". after research with several Nissan dealers, an approximate repair cost of $600 was given, including a $100 diagnostic fee for reading the codes. I have been running vehicle without a properly operating fuel gauge for approximately 5,000 miles since, due to high cost of repair not available at this time. This is a risk since the fuel gauge drops to empty once tank is below half full. This can result in loss of power components upon vehicle ceasing to operate once out of fuel. This is a recurring defect in similar and past model years that the manufacturer is choosing to ignore once out of warranty.
