Tire and rim problem. Dealer doesn't want to fix, so we add air until it comes on again and keep adding air until it's time to replace tire. By that time -battery in tpms is failing. MFG should replace tpms.

My TPMS light came on, had a local Goodyear store check add air to tires and they reset the tire pressure monitoring system. Today it came on again but all the tire pressures are OK. Anybody got any ideas?

This issue began 3 years ago. Found flat front tire, put on the spare and went to service station who removed it, found a screw, plugged it and remounted it for nothing! But the TPMS light remained on. So I took it to the dealership figuring this was a warranty fixer. They checked and found that the TPM sensor in the front passenger wheel was faulty and they replaced it at no cost to me at that time. I changed all four tires a few months later with no TPMS light up until then and I remained tire light free for a good year and a half. However since May 2013 I've dealt with a resurgent TPMS light and its incessant need to blink at start up and not go away. Tire pressure has been just fine in all four. I've checked my tires countless times since this began. I've not come across any punctures and I always maintain the tire pressure. My brother-in-law even told me to check the inflation valves on the wheels; if there is any play then it needs to be tightened and if that doesn't fix the problem then the sensor would need to be replaced...again! I've never liked this system to begin with; my eyes work just fine gauging any need for air but it remains a huge safety issue. I haven't had a shop look at this yet. I've found that this has been an issue with this model after doing some research. Another Nissan debacle! What a giant nuisance. Where are Nissan's priorities??
