Takata recall our 17 yr old daughter was in a accident on the interstate, her car rolled multiple times....the air bag never deployed-her neck (C7) was fractured. If the air bag would have deployed maybe her neck wouldn't have fractured...updated 10/19/17

Air bag recall was fixed as soon as we were notified (a few months ago). My son had a bad accident today and neither he nor the first responders can understand why the air bags did not deploy. Were they fixed correctly" were they just turned off? how can we go about getting answers before the car is taken off to the junk yard" it was my car that I gave to him so I writing this as he is no shape right now.

While parking car it spontaneously accelerated across the parking lot, the bordering street and into another parking lot before stopping. The cars left side, right side, front bumper, tires and suspension were damaged. Though no other cars were hit, commercial garbage cans, stop sign, telephone pole and a series 4 curbs inflicted damage. The air bags did not deploy despite having them checked by the dealer as required by a recall.

Hi, I received a recall on my passenger's airbag. I had the dealership where I bought the car (I am the original owner) replace the passenger's airbag. At the same time for about a month I had been hearing a rubbery rubbing squeaky sound when turning the steering wheel to the left or right. I asked the mechanic what the problem is. He said the problem is in the driver's steering wheel airbag. This is a takata airbag. I would like it replaced at no cost as there are problems with the airbags and there is a recall on takata airbags. I do not trust the driver's airbag and it is making a disturbing sound. Thank you....

I am the owner of a 2002 Nissan Maxima. The air bag warning light came and I took it to the dealer for repair. In my owners manual it states that seat belts and related systems are covered for the life of the vehicle. The service manager said that the parts are not covered. The air bags are directly related to the seat belt system. As long as the warning light is activated the air bag and seat belts will not operate. This unit is designed to only operate when there is a collision, and the vehicle has never been in an accident. The dealership is requiring a payment of $2800 for the repair. Part numbers Y851M-5Y800, 25567ar227, and 28556-5Y725 the vehicle only has 53000 mile on it and has been very well maintained. It should be the manufacturer's responsibility to cover this device on the warranty.
