The Nissan dealer diagnosed the failure as "engine sludge". before taking the vehicle to Nissan, a mechanic advised her to take it to a dealer because the engine was still under warranty. Nissan of North America denied the contact's claim and would not repair the vehicle under warranty. The purchase date and powertrain were unknown. The current mileage was 45,360 and failure mileage was 45,154.
