Murano XL

  • Automatic transmission
  • 111,776 miles

the car began to loose power before it eventually stalled. after a few minutes i would start the engine again and go before the problem reccured again after about 80-120km. i opened the fuel pump and filter assembly in the tank and inspected it. found some mud like stuff in the filter element and cleaned it. the problem got better but it can resurface again anytime when travelling

Murano ES 3.2L V6

  • CVT transmission
  • 6,000 miles

We were really surprised that at 6,000 miles our new Murano (2005) needed the transmission replaced. Nissan was accountable and replaced the transmission....no problems with transmission since.....120,000 miles to date....We now have other recent problems 1) drivers seat broke...metal bracket underneath seat on left side broke (common problem with Murano, according to mechanic). 2) Radiator leaked ("stop leak" used to solve problem---temporarily according to mechanic). 3) Shimmies at higher speeds..new tires, new alignment, new ball joints....nothing has fixed the ocassional shimmie problem. We like the look of the Murano, just baffled at the various problems with just 120,000 miles.

Murano SL V6

  • Automatic transmission
  • 109,400 miles

THIS CAR HAS STOPPED ON MY DAUGHTER & GRANDDAUGHTER EVERY 3WKS SINCE 2/13/13 WHILE SHE'S DRIVING. IT'S LEFT THEM STRANDED FOR 3-4+ HOURS EACH TIME.....WAITING FOR A TOW TRUCK TO COME TO THEIR RESCUE. ALSO, MY OLDEST DAUGHTER GOES TO THEIR RESCUE FOR SUPPORT & SAFETY, DUE TO THE VERY LATENESS OF THE EVENING INTO NIGHT TIME WAITING FOR ASSISTANCE.

AND THE OWNER OF THIS NORTH TEXAS AUTO CENTER IN ARLINGTON,TX IS NOT WILLING TO PERMANENTLY FIX THE PROBLEM(S)..............WON'T ANSWER MY DAUGHTER'S CALLS OR EMAILS!

AT THIS POINT, I BELIEVE SHE HAS BEEN SOLD A "lemon' VEHICLE; AND NEEDS TO GET ALL HER MONEY BACK SO SHE CAN PURCHASE A RELIABLE CAR WITH A DIFFERENT AUTO DEALER!

Murano SL V6

  • Automatic transmission
  • 109,700 miles

THIS CAR HAS STOPPED ON MY DAUGHTER & GRANDDAUGHTER AGAIN(since 5/22/13) AFTER A TOW COMPANY'S BODY SHOP SAID IT WAS THE BATTERY, WHICH THEY REPLACED WITH A NEW ONE, TODAY - 5/29/13!

MY DAUGHTER IS DRIVING WITH HER DAUGHTER & THE MURANO STOPS AGAIN IN TRAFFIC!!! THEY'RE STRANDED AGAIN FOR 3-4+ HOURS IN THE RAIN.....WAITING FOR A TOW TRUCK TO COME TO THEIR RESCUE. ALSO, MY OLDEST DAUGHTER GOES TO THEIR RESCUE AGAIN FOR SUPPORT & SAFETY, AND TO GIVE THEM A RIDE HOME!

SURELY, SURELY, SURELY, SOMETHING CAN BE DONE TO RECTIFY THIS RECURRING PROBLEM!

NOTHING COMES UP ON THE DIAGNOSTIC WHEN MY DAUGHTER'S CAR IS CHECKED OUT! THE NEW & SUPPOSEDLY GOOD BATTERY DOESN'T KEEP HER CAR RUNNING!

THERE'S GOT TO BE SOMEBODY OUT THERE WHO HAS A RESOLUTION TO FIX THIS PROBLEM! I'M JUST SOOOOOOOOOOOOOO THANKFUL THAT THE LORD HAS GOOD ANGELS WATCHING OVER MY FAMILY & HASN'T ALLOWED ANYTHING TRAGIC HAPPEN DURING EACH EPISODE THE VEHICLE HAS STOPPED.

I find this totally outrageous. This is supposed to be such a great vehicle. The pricetag certainly would suggest so. In all the vehicles I have ever owned, I have not had a transmission failure. I certainly had not expected this of the Nissan Murano. The quote for this repair is $7,000.00. However, I guess that service and quality are declining on Nissan vehicles. We used to get excellent dealer service. Now that is getting harder to find. The new attitude is not what can we do to help, rather this is the problem, this is the cost. I have read the complaint from another owner on how his problem was fixed, so I am expecting that it is not something that Nissan will or can easily fix. I haven't been as unfortunate as to have to deal with Fairview Nissan - their service is horrid, but we have noticed the declining friendliness at our Waterloo dealer. Perhaps it's the economic climate that has made profit the number one objective. If the quality is there, the transmission should not have failed. Bottom line.
