subframe rusted out subframe rusted out subframe rusted out subframe rusted out

Sub frame to my 2007 Nissan Murrano rusted thru completely. I owned the vehicle 11 months and bought because it was a Nissan and had one owner who look care of it. Issue: Drove on Hwy going hwy speeds, went over a bump and the back end fished tailed. Continued to drive it but was fish tailing over every bump. Called mechanic and brought it in. He said it was not drivable and the entire sub frame needs to be replaced.

When I investigated this issue I found many websites showing Nissan's complete ignorance to the problem. I shared a link to show all of the other automotive mfg. who stepped up and recalled or at least offered assistance.

I don't care how old a vehicle is - a structural component should last and if it doesn't, Nissan do the ethical thing and stand behind your product. Death and or a major accident will happen - I was behind the wheel and could handle the fish tailing - not sure my son who just got his license could have.

My car is 10 years old and the subframe rusted completely through. I noticed the car was not handling right in the snow / rain. Actually it was terrifying to drive. I could not drive over 25 miles per hour in the snow or rain because the car was all over the road. I took my car to the garage and they told my they needed to replace the subframe. I expect normal wear and tear but I DO NOT expect my 10 year old car to need a new subframe because the existing one rusted in half. The shop told me I was luck it didn't cause me to have an accident. Of course we called Nissan and they said it was no longer under warranty so there wasn't anything they could do about it. I will NEVER buy another Nissan.
