problem #2

Dec 162019

Murano S

  • CVT transmission
  • 60,000 miles

It was morning time, and my wife was on the way to work when she tried to avoid a jogger crossing the road by hitting the brakes hard. After that, the brake is no longer the same - it's soft, spongy and takes much longer to fully stop. I took it to the repair shop the next day, and there was no visible fluid leaking, with the brake pads all in good shape. The mechanics did the brake fluid flush, but the problem remains.

I bought a master cylinder and am planning to replace it on the weekend. Meanwhile I did some online research which leads me to this web. Seems most likely to be ABS actuator faulty. Why Nissan recall 2009 model but not 2010? If a master cylinder replacement cannot solve the problem, I will trade in this car in two weeks. And bye bye my one and only Nissan for life. It is dangerous and it is unsafe!!!

Murano LS

  • Automatic transmission

Brakes went out while driving. I brought to get fixed and they replaced the pads and master cylinder. This did not fix the problem. The ABS actuator is bad and they have recalled the 2009. I spoke to nissan and they told me they could not help.
