Pathfinder 3.2L

I have been hearing an awful noise in my Nissan Pathfinder since August, 2016. I took my car into my mechanic's shop and he advised me that Nissan has been recalling many of their vehicles for the timing chain issues. Apparently, they did not take the time to care in the beginning, to fix the cars adequately, so that this problem did not occur for their customers, so now we have to deal with the problem of listening to our cars knock really loud. My mechanic says that even the infinity cars has this problem also. I researched the repairs for a timing chain and found the cost averages up to $1800.00. That's a lot of money for a person such as myself who is barely getting by in an economy such as this one. I am praying even as I write this letter that when I call Nissan today that this recall covers my vehicle and my car gets fixed. Thanks for allowing me to stand on my soap box today.

Pathfinder SE 3.5L V6

  • Automatic transmission
  • 120,000 miles

Spun rod bearings caused low oil pressure. In turn, the engine has a knock and will die. Just like it died in the middle of the highway when I was turning in front of oncoming traffic.

This is a common problem among all Pathfinders of this specific engine. Thanks Nissan.
