wow.... quite the resolution that was done by the dealership from the previous complaint. rubber gasket... repainted the trunk door... wow!

just posting this, since i have the same minor problem. i bought this vehicle second-hand from a Nissan dealership and it already had about 70000 km on it. therefore i am not sure how old the problem is. i spoke to the dealership after i purchased the vehicle if there is a fix for the rust (unfortunately, there is no Nissan dealership where i am, and i bought the vehicle in a city 1800km away)... and he said that he would send touch-up paint for me.

we will have to see if it works or not.

After having the vehicle for about 2 years noticed some rust "runs" coming from both sides of the back hatch handle. The dealer acknowledged it was an issue and had seem some. Easy to fix, but takes 2-3 days. They replaced the back handle and added a gasket seal around it so it does not bang the paint/body when the hatch is being closed or during driving. They did the body work to remove the rust and repainted the entire back door so color did not have to "just be blended in".

The dealer was also nice enough to replace all the other emblems on the back so the handle and the emblems now were all new and nice and shiny.

Rust on rear hatch. Dealer is in no big hurry to fix. We all know that rust always comes back so I'm sure the dealer fix will last only as long as the warranty and the next fix will come out of my wallet.
