problem #1

Pathfinder LE 4 V6

  • Automatic transmission
  • 137,000 miles

I BROUGHT THE NISSAN 2010 IN JAN 2017 with 130,000 mil - I brought a Nissan at high mil because I thought they were good reliable cars. I TOOK IT IN FOR SERVICES 3/17 and immediately was hit with a $700 bill to replace the radiator. The Dealer told me that if I didn't replace the radiator I would be risking a transmission problem which could cause transmission failure and the cost to fit the vehicle would be $5,000 or more. I had financed this vehicle, so it was very hard to come up with the money to have this fixed. I later did research and discovered that Nissan apparently had a problem with the Radiators placed in SUV/Truck from 2008-2010 models. I saw that many owners' transmissions failed and that Nissan never did a recall on the radiators. SO - what happened - many owner of the 2008-2010 either sold or traded these vehicles in - The results - these vehicles are on the market and unsuspecting consumers like myself are buying them used and having to pay a lot of money to keep them on the road. I still have 3 years to pay for this car and now I have been hit with another large repair bill that Nissan will not cover. DON'T BUY FROM NISSAN - they do not stand behind the product they built. IF anyone has any suggestions that can help me - please let me know.
