Pathfinder 3.5L V6

  • CVT transmission
  • 163,000 miles

The dealer diagnosed the airbag light of the dash board flashing is dealing to the passenger seat OCS unit, causing it to die. It needs to be replace with a new one and charge me 2 hours for labor. I noticed it was recalled and replaced in 2017. The dealer said it only had warranty for 1 year and 12,000 miles. It is obvious a defect of the OCS unit of Nissan. That is why the other car didn't have this problem again and again. They should take care of it for free.

Pathfinder V6

  • Automatic transmission
  • 3,000 miles

The passenger seat belt light comes on with a person in the seat. We have taken it back 5 times including under a recall and it still is not fixed. I was intermittent for a while and now it stays on all the time. The vehicle has currently been at the dealership's service department for two weeks and they still cannot fix the problem.

It's an expensive car to have this kind of problem

This problem with the airbag lights deactivating was supposedly fixed in July 2014. later I found the "FIX" was just to reset the sensor. Recently the warning light started to come back on and I have called the customer service number and the dealership. I am told that I must pay $125 or so to have it put on a computer to diagnose the problem to make sure it is the same "codes" as the previous recall. Nissan has this irresponsible way of saying "what do you want us to do to fix this problem". So I told them to send me a certificate saying the airbag will deploy even if the warning light comes on and off. The second time they ask me I said "...give me a new vehicle..." but Nissan is willing to do neither.

I am going to get rid of this vehicle as soon as I can because it is unsafe and Nissan does not seem to care they have created an unsafe vehicle but do not want to be responsible.
