Pathfinder SL 3.5L V6

  • CVT transmission
  • 128,587 miles

This cvt transmission problem happened just before Christmas 2023 and it's going to cost around $6000 dollars just to buy the transmission that's not including the labor to install it, and the only way I can afford to buy a new one is to get it financed NISSAN needs to help me fix the this problem for free because this is their fault for making such a faulty peace of junk transmission I owe more money on this vehicle than it is worth and on top that I can't trade it in without putting a lot money down not to mention the extra debt I am going be in with the new transmission if I could sue NISSAN for this I would, I would get every dime I could get out of them.

Pathfinder Platinum 3.5L V6

  • CVT transmission
  • 81,220 miles

The car started losing acceleration around 80k miles. By 81K it became significant. Brought the car in and the transmission was replaced under an extended warranty. Unfortunately the car still does not feel right. There is a huge drop in power after accelerating from stop. Tachometer drops from 3000rpm to near 1000rpm while accelerating before getting back up to speed. Really annoying. Dealer says there is nothing wrong!

Pathfinder SL V6

  • Automatic transmission
  • 105,120 miles

First I did notice very small instances of hesitating at take off. It wasn't constant like every day, so I thought nothing of it. Then just yesterday, the car simply stopped moving forward. I coasted into a parking lot and then the transmission suddenly engaged. Again it stopped working, had to push into a parking space. I wanted to start with transmission fluid check before emptying my bank account, but the manual suggests I take it to a dealership.

Anyone know where to check the fluid or is the transmission designed so it cannot be accessed; only by special equipment? I read something about a cvt filter problem as well. Im thinking buy the Chilton's repair guide and see what we can do on our own.. Also want to know if anyone took care of a problem like this themselves. I will continue my research in the meantime.
