problem #2

Quest 6-cyl

  • Automatic transmission
  • 60,000 miles
The accelerator cable on our 1999 Nissan Quest failed in 2001, we replaced it, and now in 2005 the cable is failing again. The accelerator pedal "sticks" and you have to push very hard to get the vechile to accelerate, creating an unsafe situation where you often have to accerate too fast upon takeoff. This could lead to a rear end collision.

When you put your foot on the accelerator & try to prss on it...the accelerator will stick. Its like it dosent want to go down untill you press real hard. I have had this problem once before with this van. I took it to the dealership they repaired the problem at my expense...and this is the second time that this has occured. I am affraid that eventually the accelerator will stick while I am driving.
