Rogue

  • CVT transmission
  • 172,000 miles

Transmission replaced on my 2010 Nissan Rogue on 07/23/2018, with 147,169 miles and cost $3885.94, was told it was a new transmission. 18 months later, a new transmission is needed, which will cost another 3885.94 to have done again, car has 172,000 miles. Warranty has run out 12 months or 12,000. I was informed there is nothing that Nissan or the dealership can do. So it appears, if I keep this vehicle, I may need to get the transmission replaced every 18 months at a cost of almost $4,000. My husband and I have the following other Nissan: 2011 Pathfinder - 168,000 miles, 2010 Titan - 189,000 miles, 2006 Nissan Armada with over 390,000 miles, 1996 Nissan Sentra (engine replaced 10 years ago and still drive-able) - 205,000 miles and a 1989 Nissan Frontier - 215,000. The 2010 Rogue is the only Nissan that's been having issues, the other Vehicle have the original parts, with no issues; however, Nissan is not standing behind the fact of the Rogue having a CVT issue and is passing on the cost to the consumers. if a consumer has a rogue and their vehicle has more than 120,000 miles, please be aware because you may very well need a transmission very soon. I will be selling all of my Nissan vehicles and switching over to either Honda or Toyota. Nissan is fully aware of the issue and instead of stepping up and having a recall for all cars no matter the mileage, Nissan isn't standing behind the fact of switching over to CVT was a mistake and is costing the consumers dearly. I will be continue to complain and go as high as needed to be heard!!!

  • CVT transmission
  • 122,882 miles

A few months ago I started noticing a stutter when driving. One day at a stop sign, the car decided it wouldn't accelerate right away. It took about 15 seconds before it "caught" and started going. My usual mechanic changed my oil and added transmission fluid. At that time he mentioned Nissan was NOT a good car and my transmission may be going. I was/am in NO position to replace a transmission or buy a new car. I wish I had Googled at that time and found this site because I would have been just under the 120k mile mark to have this repaired within warranty.

A week and a half ago on Monday my check engine light came on. I couldn't take it anywhere until Wednesday so I drove to work on Tuesday. I barely made it the 35 minutes. The car wouldn't shift. On my way home it just died after I stopped at a light on a super busy road. Luckily I was able to somehow coast into a school parking lot where I had to be picked up. I was able to get the car back to my mechanic who wouldn't even touch it. He started it up and drove around the block then called to say the transmission was shot and would be at least $5000 to fix. He wanted no part of it. He said take it directly to Nissan.

I sent corporate an email and they assigned a claims specialist who I have yet to speak to since 4/25! Every time I call I get a new "agent" but can't get to my actual claims specialist. I have NO car. I need a resolution! If they're not going to fix it why can't they just say it so I can take the next step?! They are THE WORST!!!!!

Transmission failed with no warning!! I was turning left across intersection and car would not accelerate, had to pull to side of road because I almost got hit by oncoming traffic!! Called Nissan to report the failure, they said to have it checked at Nissan dealership and send them details of price to fix and they would decide if they would fix it.

I had car towed to dealership and it was checked by the service personnel. I called Nissan with the update and price to fix the transmission and they decided since the vehicle was 2000 miles over warranty they could not cover fixing the problem. I had researched this site and there seems to be several complaints on this CVT transmission that Nissan puts in their vehicles. I think they should fix the problems and stop making this transmission. It is crap!!!

DO NOT BUY A NISSAN VEHICLE!!!! I WILL NOT BUY ANOTHER UNTIL THEY DECIDE TO IMPROVE THEIR TRANSMISSIONS!! I THINK IT IS CRAPPY SERVICE FROM THEM!! I AM GOING TO GET ADVICE FROM AN ATTORNEY ABOUT MY ISSUE.

  • CVT transmission

I was driving out of town and after driving for about an hour, the car started to decelerate. had to keep stopping the car to "cool it down" and after driving every 5 minutes I needed to stop so I wouldn't be stranded. This kept occurring and on the way back home the check engine light came on. I contacted Nissan and they pretty much said there is nothing they can do. I'm online and searching and I see thousands of people going through this. How can Nissan not see this as a problem. I am going to file a formal complaint as well, I cant afford for this "manufacture issue". Looking online everyone is stating exactly the same issue. If there is something I can do please feel free to message me,

DO NOT BUY NISSAN ROGUE

Purchased "pre-owned" 2010 Nissan Rogue from Nissan dealership in Ottawa, with 50,000km. Transmission fails at 64,000 km, and then again at 140,000 km, and again at 192,000 km. Took it in for 3 rd replacement and was told nothing wrong with transmission. 60,000km later transmission completely fails. Am waiting to hear back from salesperson who sold me the car for a last chance hail Mary. Will post the results of last chance. Oh, if you are past the warranty time or km, head office won't even give you the time of day. They really do not understand social media in 2018, do they? As soon as I hear back from salesperson I will be starting a campaign of information on every social media site there is.

  • Automatic transmission

I will never ever buy a Nissan rogue, OR ANY TYPE OF NISSAN EVER. My Nissan has been nothing but problems, had to get a new transmission cost $4500.00. Have other problems going to list them where they belong. I purchased this vehicle used from a Nissan dealer. It only had 15,000 miles so I purchased the vehicle. Worst SUV in the world, do not buy Nissan unless you do your homework and look up all the problems that the car might have. only had the car 3 years and the Transmission goes out, that is just wrong. Nissan needs to recall the Transmission, I am thinking about talking to an attorney on how to do a CLASS ACTION LAW SUIT ON NISSAN.

Rogue Sport Sl 2.5L L4

  • CVT transmission
  • 83,574 miles

Bought in December 2014 this car with 122,225 Km from a Toyota Dealership, I paid for that car C$ 13,800 it looked great and drove great for about a year . After one Year at about 130 K I noticed a strange vibrations, didn't seem to be serious cause I didn't see any engine failure indicator shown, well I thought it was the road a little bumpy, later it became more often, till two days ago when with no indication of any problem I was stuck in the middle of a busy road, lucky enough I could pull aside towards the curb. Had to tow the car to my home garage where it sits. I called Nissan Canada to hear that I have no warranty any more, though she said warranty was extended to 120000 Km but I'm not alleged to coverage for the failure. Quick inquiry I found out from Nissan Dealership laconic blunt answer, "new transmission C$ 10,000, refurbished C$ 6,800 with 20000 Km warranty". I consider seriously to sue Nissan in a class action for selling this faulty CVT transmission, look! only here on this site so many complaints, such a major defective part that causes for Nissan huge income to replace from suckers like me if I'll fix it with them, and to the customers a disastrous loss of money. Obviously no one of my relatives or friends will dare buying Nissan listening to me, I strongly suggest victims of Nissan CVT faulty transmission to join together for a class action claim against this Manufacturer.

Update from May 10, 2016: Thanks to this site I found out about Nissan extension of warranty for CVT transmission in Canada from 100000
to 200000 Km and from 5 to 10 years. Presenting these findings at the Dealership my Rogue was taking in for transmission replacement with NO charges for me. I got now my car back running perfect to my satisfaction. It is a lot to learn from others complaints, the best lesson I learn, check again and again not always Customers Service knowing exactly what you are entitled to.
