The contact owns a 2011 Nissan Rogue. The contact stated that while her daughter was driving approximately 35 MPH, the vehicle stalled without warning. The contact noticed that the vehicle was jerking prior to the failure. The driver depressed the brake pedal but was concerned about the vehicle moving. The vehicle was taken to the local dealer where it was diagnosed and determined that the transmission needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified however, no further assistance was provided. The approximate failure mileage was 82,000. The VIN was not available.

Rogue

I began to drive this 2011 Nissan Rogue and noticed when stopped at a red light, when it turned green I stepped on the gas accelerator and the vehicle did not respond. This has happened over and over again. While on the highway driving a speed of 70 miles my car began to loose power, and speed. It went as low as 40 miles and I almost had an accident as a result. I was unable to maintain highway speed. No warning lights or indicators ever came on. Neither with the first issue, or the second issue. I didn't know what was happening. I was driving with my 6 yr old who has special needs the first time. I bought a new battery thinking that would help. Then it happened again, while driving with my two boys and two grandson's in the car. I again lost power and could not accelerate properly on the highway. Cars were flying by me, and I felt helpless as this vehicle wouldn't maintain a proper hi-way speed. Very debilitating. Scary when you have no control over your vehicle speed, and can't accelerate. Nissan states there's a problem with the cvt. They have agreed to replace my transmission as it has also failed. But refuse to pay for the work"? please help, as I am sure I am not the only person going through this right now. So if they replace the transmission who's to say it wont happen again??"

When brakes was applied in order to stop the vehicle, the vehicle accelerated momentarily and brakes had to be depressed all the way down to the floor at which point the vehicle eased into a stop in a very untimely and unsafe manner. Sometimes when attempting to stop the vehicle, the brakes have to be applied all the way to the floor, the vehicle responds very slowly as if the brakes had not been applied. Other times the vehicle stops abruptly as if the brakes had been applied aggressively. While stopped upward for about a minute at a slightly inclined hill and behind another vehicle in order to obey a red traffic light, the vehicle propelled forward as if the brakes was not currently applied. The brakes had to be re-applied all the way to the floor to stop the vehicle. I took the vehicle to curry Nissan dealer where I purchased the vehicle to report the problem and set an appointment for them to diagnose the problem. Also, I informed the attendant at the dealer that there are a few complaints filed online that were addressing the same problem that I experienced with the brakes of the Nissan Rogue 2011. The attendant response was that no one had brought such problem to their attention. Below are some links to the previously filed complaints. www.carcomplaints.com/Nissan/Rogue/2011/brakes/service_brakes.shtml www.aboutautomobile.com/complaint/2011/Nissan/Rogue/hydraulic+brake www.carcomplaints.com/Nissan/Rogue/2011/brakes/service_brakes_hydraulic.shtml.

The back brake lights fail to come on. When I had them checked, the auto mechanic said the bulb was burnt. After changing the bulbs, the brake lights still did not come on. We checked the fuses and this did not solve the problem. The brake lights still fail come on when the brakes are pressed.

I was driving down the feeder road when I had to suddenly brake due to another vehicle attempting an unsafe lane change. My vehicle slowed, and the ABS activated. Less than a second later, the brakes deactivated all together. I was still pressing the brake pedal, but my vehicle continued to roll as if there were no brakes all together. I immediately disengaged the brake pedal and attempted to re-engage the brakes simply to test the brakes, but the vehicle jerked a few times and rolled again. I tried again, and the brakes engaged normally. I took the vehicle to the dealership where I was told that since they could not replicate the incident there was nothing that could be done. I informed them that the vehicle was unsafe and asked if I could speak with the dealership manager and was told I had to make an appointment. I can no longer trust my vehicle to keep me safe on the road and have since only used it as little as possible.

Rogue

  • 6,000 miles
The contact owns a 2011 Nissan Rogue. While driving downhill approximately 70 mph, the brake pedal was engaged when the steering wheel began to shake violently. The failure recurred when the contact was traveling at higher speeds and driving downhill. The vehicle was taken to an authorized dealer who advised that all four tires were over inflated. The tires were deflated to the accurate pressure. The problem lessened but became progressively worse over a period of time. The manufacturer was notified of the problem. The contact planned to take the vehicle back to the dealer. The approximate failure mileage was 6,000.
