Rogue Sport

  • Automatic transmission
  • 35,000 miles

We purchased my daughter a CPO Nissan Rogue. My daughter rear-ended the vehicle in front of her at a red light while stomping on the brake when she realized the vehicle had stopped when the light was green. There was no visible damage to either vehicle other than a scuff mark. However, the driver's airbag deployed in her Rogue. When the airbag deploys it also damages both front seat belts requiring new ones even when no one was in the passenger seat. The dealership we purchased from said that a "jolt" can trigger the airbags. We took it to a local dealership to determine if this was a warranty issue since the extent of the impact should not have caused the airbags to deploy and the car was still under the manufacturer's warranty. They charged us $150 to tell us it would cost $6k to repair and that a "jolt" can trigger the airbags. Needless to say we are getting rid of the Rogue. We can not afford $6k every time the brakes are applied quickly and hard.
