The issue was the back of the hatch back started to rust by the chrome piece above the license plate. I was told by Nissan that this was an issue and that they would cover it. First they cleaned it and sent me off stating, let us know if it comes back. In about a 2 months, I noticed it again. This time they sent it out with a new part and stated that the screws that hold the chrome piece on start to rust and that is the issue. So this was sent out for repair to a body shop.

I received the car back and in about another 1.5 years, it was rusting again in the same spot on the hatch back. So I took it in and Nissan again stated that they would send it out back to the body shop for repair. I received the car back, and it looked great. Now I drive a lot at work and I have a lot of mileage on the car. So I showed this to the Nissan dealer again and this time, because I have a lot of mileage on the car they can't cover it.

So I called the Nissan corporate office. They called me and I spoke with the person and she told me at this time Nissan would not be able to assist in repairing this. It amazes me that the original problem that Nissan had with this was never corrected. I could not bring this back in after each repair as rust does not start right away. Once it starts is when I notice it and bring it back. What I have is a problem that Nissan new about, and they tried to repair it twice or actually 3 times, but now they refuse to help with this again. This is a design issue and Nissan new about this.

Now since I have so many miles on the car, it is now given back to the consumer to correct. It is too bad that when I called the corporate office they do not understand the real issue and that this was the same issue they were fixing under warranty, but now they won't and it is the exact same issue. This does make me think about getting another Nissan or stating to anyone that the car is good, but Nissan will not stand behind their issues once the warranty is over. Poor customer service.

Rogue SV With SL Pkg 2.5L I4

  • CVT transmission
  • 53,154 miles

I was changing the oil for the first time on our 2013 Rogue (we just purchased used) and discovered some significant rust on the subframe. It is really deep rust that will eventually rot through and crack (sooner than later). I've had about 10 cars throughout the years and have never seen rust this bad on the subframe or frame. Buyer beware: always check underneath - something I neglected to do at the dealership. This is just unacceptable for a 2013 car and is most likely due to a Nissan manufacturing issue.

Rogue LX 2L

  • CVT transmission
  • 36,700 miles

I bought my 2013 Nissan Rogue new in June 2013. In October 2015 I noticed rust on back door. Toke it to local dealer and they took pictures for Nissan. The mileage was 36,700. They told me to take to their body shop not at that location but was still their shop. The body shop manager said he could work on but didn't know what he could do for the door. He sees this a lot on Versas and Rogues. Back Door was flush at top but out about inch at bottom. When driving stones being thrown up and causing damage to door causing rust. I do have pictures! I told the manager Nissan should pay for this. His reply was if they don't, do not buy another Nissan. Nissan said no to paying at first, then offered 50 percent and I pay remainder This is a car that was never wrecked and always serviced by them. They were horrible to work with and treated me like I did something to the car. I toke the car to a local shop and they said even if they fix rust which can came back, what are they going to do for door? Bend it? He said they owe you a new door. Well I cant get them to fix it, let alone buy new door! I ended up trading the car in and will never buy another Nissan! Poor workmanship and they won't stand by their product!!

excessive rusting

A month ago, I started noticing that the paint on my 2013 Nissan Rogue is peeling and chipping off. On Wednesday September 23rd, I took my car to the service department, they took some pictures to send them to body shop but they have not contacted me back. One of the advisers suggested me to be on top of this issue because if my car reach 36000 miles I was going to be responsible for the repair cost. This car is a lease and I have one year left. Is there someone else having the same problem. Please reply at your earliest convenience.

My 2013 Nissan Rogue has been Progressively Rusting pretty bad on the Tailgate. When I brought it in to the Dealership the first time over a Year and a Half ago I mentioned it to the manager. He said it was Environmental Rust. He would look into it and never got back to me. Every time I have brought my car back to this Dealership I mentioned this rust issue again and again and they always tell me that they will get back to me and never do. I have Contacted Nissan Corporate and they are not helpful at all.

rust on the back door, roof and side of car

It started as an orange spot that wiped off when washing. Eventually it broke through the paint. There is now a pea size rust with paint around it cracking by the chrome strip on the back door. We have since noticed that there is rust under the tail lights and found it on the roof by the windshield. It all started with noticing 1 spot, then it multiplied and while we have been waiting on a response from Nissan, they are getting bigger and more are appearing. They took pictures of it at the beginning of this month and even though we call the dealer repeatedly, we are still waiting on an answer.

I am very disappointed to find a rust on a car that is less than 2 years old. I have now taken it to the Nissan Dealer who have been very helpful, however cannot take any real action until they get results from Nissan.

My car was in for mva repair, and when picking it up I noticed the rust. Wam (the repair shop) said they would send pictures to head office and someone would call me. That never happened. I called Crowne and left a message around 3 times. I was finally given to another person and then got an apt for painting. No one looked at the car until I brought it in for painting. I showed the guy the areas and also one on the roof. He said they would fix them and it would take 3 days. I was given the wrong information regarding pickup when I got back to the dealership to get my car. Somehow they pushed it and I got it on time.

One thing I really hated was signing the work order sheet before I saw my car. That's bullshit. DON'T SIGN, until you see your car. Only 5 of the 6 spots were done properly, or to their satisfaction. The rear lights still had tape residue, so I know the lights weren't removed to get the rust behind. Also, I was told that the rust on the roof was from a stone and it was just touched up, not painted. No one called me regarding this while it was in the shop. I wouldn't have signed the work order until the lights were redone, but I was so upset, I told Russ I was just going to leave. He walked away saying WOW. So I called him back and said his remark wasn't appropriate for the situation and left. Crowne, doesn't get my 100% satisfaction. They get 10%

bottom of vehicle started to rust and rust on tailgate

Brought the 2013 nissan rogue, beautiful suv. Notice several weeks ago, when cleaning, rust coming out on the tailgate. Took her back to clarenville where purchased, they put her on the ramp and it had numerous spots of rust on bottom. They took pictures of the rust and we are waiting to hear. They said they might have to sandblast the spots. Can you image a new machine and having to sandblast. I'm very disgusted about this, but i will say, they will not be sandblasting my new machine, better come up with something better. LIVID
