According to this and other car complaint forums, problems with the A/C Heater for this car in 2013-2015 models are too common for it not to be a recall. The controls for the left side of the climate control system don't work. Sometimes it'll get stuck in the coldest position, which is a serious problem in the winter, and sometimes it sticks somewhere in a warming position, which is a serious issue in the summer. This started to occur right after the warranty ended in 2018, and got progressively worse to where now it is seemingly permanently stuck in the heating position. The passenger side vents work fine.

Currently the car is at Universal Nissan in Los Angeles, being diagnosed. When I brought the car in a couple of days ago, the wrote me up an estimate to pinpoint exactly the problem and give me a repair price, at a price of $154. Then they called me to tell me they can't find the problem, and it will need more testing and analysis, for which they wanted another $465. I told them that I have a written agreement with them that they would fully diagnose the problem (and give me a repair price) for $154, and surprisingly they backed down, and are continuing the process for the original estimate price (I'm sure when they diagnose it, they'll make up their loss in the repair price lol!).

If anyone has had a similar problem and has had some success fighting about it with Nissan, please drop me a line (one option I'm exploring is approaching Nissan with the diagnosis and the documented history of its commonality among Nissan customers, and asking them to fix it for free). Thanks.
