I purchased this car brand new. 2 weeks later I was diving on the freeway and the park brake system light went and bam the brakes hit. Scared the crap out of me. I've owned this car for 8 months now. Its happened to me 6 times already. The bad thing is you never can predict it. I've taken it to the local dealer and all they tell me is that they can get it to duplicate. So I went on line to do my own research and found a bunch of other people with the same issue. I am elderly so I was starting to think I was going crazy and also the Nissan dealer was making me out to be as well. I purchased a new car so I could be safe. I feel like I'm driving around a loaded unpredictable gun. These incidents happened on the freeway going South I25 of albuquerque. The other happened on bridge and isleta abg 87105. Downtown area albuquerque twice. Fee way I40 going East of albuquerque. I will be installing a camera to make sure it documented for further action. Because it will happen again.

Since purchasing this vehicle used in Dec 2019 there has been many occasions of the forward alert for collision activating and there was no other cars near the front of the vehicle, it flashes on the dash so quickly and goes off before we can see what it's saying.there has also been many occasions of the automatic breaking activating and auto breaking while driving at various speeds including on the interstate and leaving the interstate onto off ramps as well as normal city driving. Just recently found this reporting site and as we are afraid of a rear end collision happening if this is not addressed with Nissan.

Leased a 2018 Nissan Rogue in August of 2018 and started having electrical issues with the vehicle. While driving, the navigation screen, center cluster where the speedometer is and all air condition and electronics would power off and restart itself, as if I was cranking the vehicle up. Took the car in for service and the dealership stated they had never seen this issue before and that they didn't know how to fix it. The dealership called me the next day stating the car was ready. On my way home from the dealer, the sensor system that works with the automatic emergency braking failed. I totaled the vehicle and fractured C5, C6, C7 in my neck, and had to wear a cervical collar for 4 months following the accident. I also suffered a concussion. Nissan took over and started they needed to perform an investigation. They found an issue with the sensor system in the car, and the aeb was not functioning. This could have all been avoided. 10 months later they send out a customer service initiative to have the car updated and looked at again. However the car was no longer in my possession.

The front crash light started flashing out of the blue and then the car slammed on the brakes and brought it to a complete stop and it was a completely clear night with no traffic around me. There was zero reason for it to do that! I was going almost 70 mph on a country road and there was not an animal or another car anywhere in sight. It happened twice that the light came on and the first time, I pulled over, killed the car, opened my door and reset it and started driving again. It came on again and then slammed the brakes on. Luckily there was no one behind me or I probably would have been in an accident! I took a video just prior to the car slamming on the brakes.

I was just leaving my job, and driving down a local, double yellow-lined road, doing about 35-40 mph, when my 2018 Nissan Rogue's automatic breaking system suddenly, and aggressively engaged, causing the entire vehicle to shudder, and make a horrible noise, along with flashing orange, triangle warning light. The terrifying part about it, was that there was absolutely nothing in front of me, and thankfully no one behind me. I pulled over, and had a small nervous breakdown. This is an extreme safety issue! I don't want to think about what could have happened, had I been on the expressway or had my daughter in the car, and there was an accident! Nissan should absolutely recall the cars affected by this! not just issue bulletins to dealership's. unacceptable. I'm calling the dealership tomorrow, to find out what can be done. Now, I'm afraid to drive my car.

I would like to report an issue with the vehicles automatic braking assistance system. While driving the car on an avenue, the car just stopped completely with no other traffic in the area. No one in front or behind. The car came to a complete stop and I and my passenger where thrown forward with the seat belts tightening around us. The car has also slowed down on major streets and highways.

As I was driving on a city street on 09/03/2020 my car decided to stop automatically by itself in the middle of the street. The breaks locked up and the steering as well, I was thrown forward almost hitting my head off the steering wheel, I didn't because I had my seatbelt on, thank goodness. If there was another vehicle behind me I would have most likely died. This is completely unacceptable and should not be happening. I called the dealer where I had purchased it from, performance Kia in moosic, pa and they can not get me in for a whole week which is also unacceptable because I have to drive it in order to get my children around and myself to work, this is scary and needs to be resolved. I noticed plenty of other people complaining about this issue as well!

The contact owns a 2018 Nissan Rogue. The contact stated while driving at 70 mph under a bridge, the vehicle independently came to a complete stop. The contact stated that an alarm sound was heard and the instrumental panel illuminated displaying a message that a crashed had occurred. The contact stated that the brake failure was experienced three times. The contact stated that the braking system failure caused the steering wheel to also become inoperable. The contact stated that there was an abnormal sound while turning the steering wheel and additionally, there was a vibration in the suspension. The vehicle was taken to burleson Nissan (300 North burleson boulevard, burleson, Texas, 76028, (817) 484-3500) to be diagnosed. The manufacturer was contacted. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was 41,000.

Happened about 6 months ago while driving home from a friends house. Suddenly the car made an awful sound and the brakes locked. Scared the crap out of me. Took it to the dealer and they checked the brakes-saw nothing. Keep getting warning message while driving - this warning appears when the blind spot warning/lane departure warning or forward collision warning systems are not functioning properly.
